Audi A2 Fuel Consumption (MPG & km/L)

With the A2 introduced in 1999, Audi was ahead of its time. The mini-van, which was only 3.83 meters long, was a pioneer in terms of efficiency, which it mainly owed to its lightweight aluminum construction and the aerodynamically optimized body.

The unusual shape of the A2 won the chief designer Peter Schreyer a prize for its design, but it did not necessarily meet the taste of the customers. Even the three-liter A2 with 1.2-liter three-cylinder diesel and a standard consumption of 2.99 liters per 100 kilometers could not help the small economy champion to break through, in 2006 the series was discontinued without a successor.

The A2 offers the highest level of perfection and quality that is unparalleled in this class. The body is partly made of aluminum and plastic and represents a very rigid and safe passenger area with low weight. The three-cylinder TDI engine offers decent driving performance with low consumption. Unfortunately, the far too high price and the idiosyncratic design were partly to blame for the short production period.

Audi A2 Fuel Efficiency Figures

The fuel consumption of the Audi A2 is shown below in both MPG (Miles Per Gallon) and km/L (Kilometers Per Litre). Both of these figures show you how far that particular Audi A2 variant can travel for every gallon (4.55 litres) and every litre (1000ml) of fuel. The higher the MPG or km/L value, the more economical the car is and the cheaper it will be to run.

The Audi A2 8Z

The A2 8Z is a minivan manufactured by Audi in Neckarsulm from 1999 to 2005. The vehicle concept, which was groundbreaking at the time with an aluminum body and a variable interior, delighted buyers with an affinity for technology. The particularly economical Audi A2 1.2 TDI 3L was particularly innovative. The A2, equipped with a three-cylinder pump-nozzle diesel, achieved an unbelievable standard consumption of just 3l/100 km. Still an immensely good figure for a conventionally powered car. Only around 175,000 units were made during the entire production period. Due to the innovative concept and the rarity, even these days the prices for a used Audi A2 are relatively high despite the age of the cars. The only real competitor in this class at the time was the Mercedes A class.
