The long-lived Peugeot 107 has been replaced by the brand-new 108 city car, which promises much more.
New C1 and Aygo models are also part of the new hatchback, which is once again a cooperative initiative between Citroen and Toyota.
According to official consumption statistics, the Peugeot 108's operating costs are rather reasonable, but owners have few options.
There are only two petrol engines available: a 1.0-liter for the Access and Active trims and a 1.2-liter for the Allure and Feline trims. No diesel engine is available.
Peugeot 108 Fuel Consumption
With stop/start technology, the 1.0-liter engine achieves an excellent official fuel economy of 74.3 mpg. Fuel efficiency significantly declines to 68.9 mpg in the absence of the device. Choosing the automatic transmission results in a little decrease in fuel efficiency, reaching 67.3 mpg.
The official fuel consumption of the more powerful 1.2-liter petrol engine is 65.7 mpg, which is only somewhat less than the 1.0-liter option's fuel efficiency. This is good given the 1.2-liter engine produces 14 horsepower more.
Like other official consumption statistics, they are not meant to be an accurate representation of driving in the real world, but rather to serve as a standard by which to evaluate various cars.
With CO2 emissions of 88g/km, the 1.0-liter petrol engine with stop/start technology is the least polluting vehicle. The 1.0-liter gasoline engine with an automatic transmission emits 97 grammes per kilometre, whereas the 1.0-liter gasoline engine without stop/start only emits 95 grammes per kilometre.
Peugeot 108 Emissions
Despite having the highest emissions in the range, the 1.2-liter gasoline nevertheless manages to fall below the 100g/km barrier with 99g/km.
The fuel consumption of the Peugeot 108 is shown below in both MPG (Miles Per Gallon) and km/L (Kilometers Per Litre). Both of these figures show you how far that particular Peugeot 108 variant can travel for every gallon (4.55 litres) and every litre (1000ml) of fuel. The higher the MPG or km/L value, the more economical the car is and the cheaper it will be to run. As well as providing the combined figures, we also give you the fuel consumption you can expect from a Peugeot 108 in urban / city driving conditions as well as what can be expected on the open highway / motorway.

The 'real fuel consumption' shows you the amount of fuel your Peugeot 108 is consuming to travel a fixed distance. This is normally shown as L/100km. This figure shows you the amount of fuel consumed in litres for every 100kms travelled. This is the most commonly used figure for showing the fuel consumption of a vehicle. The formula to calculate it is:
(Litres of fuel used X 100) / Kilometers travelled = L/km.
