Citroen C2 Fuel Consumption (MPG & km/L)

When the C2 was launched in 2003, the Citroen C2 was advertised as a "city sports car" by Citroen. It was produced for 7 years between 2003 and 2009 and due to its compact dimensions and good fuel efficiency it particularly attractive for city commuters.

There were two different C2 engine variants. Firstly a 1.1 litre and a 1.4 litre petrol. In the entry level version, you could expect a somewhat modest 60bhp which eased its way from 0 to 100 km/h in a lazy 16.1 seconds. The larger engine provided an additional 13bhp taking the total up to 73hp. For the next few years, Citroen released a number of different variants including a more sporty 1.6 16V VTR. Thanks to bigger engine and reduced weight, this boy racer version of the C2 pumped out 109hp but this model was then trumped a year later, by far the most powerful version (122hp) ever produced - The C2 VTS.

Citroen C2 Fuel Efficiency Figures

The fuel consumption of the Citroen C2 is shown below in both MPG (Miles Per Gallon) and km/L (Kilometers Per Litre). Both of these figures show you how far that particular Citroen C2 variant can travel for every gallon (4.55 litres) and every litre (1000ml) of fuel. The higher the MPG or km/L value, the more economical the car is and the cheaper it will be to run. As well as providing the combined figures, we also give you the fuel consumption you can expect from a Citroen C2 in urban / city driving conditions as well as what can be expected on the open highway / motorway.

Knowing the real fuel consumption (sometimes called 'Real MPG' or 'Real km/L) of your Citroen C2 is critical because it is shows the actual fuel efficiency you are getting from the car. It shows you the true MPG or km/L you are getting from your Citroen C2 from driving in the real world, rather than the figures provided by the manufacturer. Calculating both the fuel economy of your car is as easy as 1-2-3.. Use our simple Fuel Efficiency Calculator to help easily work this out.

How To Calculate Real Fuel Consumption Of Your Citroen C2

The 'real fuel consumption' shows you the amount of fuel your Citroen C2 is consuming to travel a fixed distance. This is normally shown as L/100km. This figure shows you the amount of fuel consumed in litres for every 100kms travelled. This is the most commonly used figure for showing the fuel consumption of a vehicle.
